Stonecreek Stationery Inc., operating as Chasing Tails Studio ("we", "us", "our"), operates chasingtailsstudio.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site or order a custom pet portrait, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the privacy laws that apply to us.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (if you give one), and what you ordered.
  • Your pet's photo and name: the photo you upload and the pet name you enter when ordering. Your photo may show people or your home; please upload photos of your pet only.
  • Payment information: payments are handled by Shopify and its payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send through our contact form.
  • Site usage data: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site you came from, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it

  • To create, print, ship and support your order, including using your photo and pet name only to make your portrait.
  • To send order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your questions.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to measure and improve our advertising.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.

We will not use your photo or your finished portrait in our marketing or advertising without asking you first. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with the service providers who help us run the store:

  • Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders and payments.
  • Production and fulfillment providers, who receive your photo, pet name, style, size and shipping address so your portrait can be made and delivered.
  • Shipping carriers and order-tracking services, who receive your name, address and tracking details so your package can reach you.
  • Advertising and analytics providers, through cookies and similar tools, if we use them to measure and improve our advertising.
  • Authorities and advisers, where the law requires it or to protect our rights.

Some of these providers are located in other countries, so your information may be stored or processed there and can be accessed under the laws of those places.

Cookies

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure site traffic and measure advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the store may not work properly without them. You can also use our Your Privacy Choices page.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to support your order and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. Photos you upload are kept only as long as needed to produce your portrait, handle any problem with your order, and meet our legal obligations, and are then deleted or anonymized where we are able to.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, and our providers use industry-standard security, to protect your information. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you may withdraw consent to certain uses, subject to legal requirements and what we need to complete your order. Residents of certain U.S. states have additional rights under their state privacy laws, including the right to know, delete and correct their information and to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising; we will honor those requests as required. To make a request, use our contact form. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Information we collect, by category

In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information, directly from you, automatically through your browser or device, and from our service providers: identifiers (name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, IP address); commercial information (what you ordered and order history); internet and device activity (pages viewed, browser and device type, how you arrived at the site); and photos and images you upload (your pet's photo). We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. We use each category for the purposes listed in "How we use it" above and share it with the providers listed in "Who we share it with."

Advertising and analytics

We may advertise on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. To measure and improve our advertising, these platforms and other providers may place cookies, pixels or similar tools on our site and receive information such as the pages you view, items you add to your cart, purchases, and your IP address and device identifiers. This may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. We do not sell your personal information for money. You can opt out of this sharing at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page, through your browser's cookie controls, or through the ad settings on those platforms.

Marketing emails

If you choose to receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message. Order and shipping emails are not marketing and will still be sent so that we can deliver your order.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where the law requires. Because there is no common standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, our site does not respond to them otherwise.

Exercising your privacy rights

To make a request to know, access, correct, delete or opt out, use our contact form and tell us what you would like to do. We will confirm your identity, which may involve matching details to your order, and respond within the time the law allows. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you; we may ask for proof of their authority. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying through our contact form, and we will review it and tell you the outcome. We will not treat you differently, for example by changing prices or service, because you exercised a privacy right.

Children

The store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us through our contact form and we will delete it.

Our site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
